And since we haven’t heard anything about this title yet, I’m pretty sure that the game has been indeed delayed (I mean Frogwares has not released any new trailer or screenshots for the game one month prior to its release). However, and according to Amazon, the game has been delayed until May 24th.įrogwares has not confirmed yet this delay, however, I’m pretty sure we’ll hear more about it this upcoming week.
#WHEN WAS THE SINKING CITY RELEASED PC#
The reason I believe Nacon only has a say over the steam version is because even when they announced the injunction by the court to continue with the original terms of the contract, they only mentioned about the game coming to steam pc wise.Įdit: Some past statements in relation to publishingīeyond that, it also reaffirms that it has exclusive distribution rights for The Sinking City on Steam and counters Frogwares' earlier accusations by saying the developer was and is still entitled to any royalties generated by Steam sales (should the game reappear on the platform.Frogwares’ Lovecrafian open world action investigation game, The Sinking City, was originally meant to hit stores on March 21st. The steam version might be the one that Nacon has exclusive rights over in the initial contract in exchange for funding the development of the game. So it is likely a new contract was drawn up between the Nacon and Frogwares in relation to the Epic deal. It was slated for a steam release as well but that got delayed after Epic poached them. Bear in mind that Sinking City was not initially intended to be an epic exclusive. The epic publishing rights might have been limited to the 1 year exclusivity period after which a new agreement might have had to be made between the two for Nacon to continue publishing it on Epic. It might have just been a simple publishing agreement(without funding) and as such, not something that can be forced by Nacon. The GOG version could have been a separate agreement that was inked later on but not yet put into effect. Specifics are hard to determine unless we see the contract itself. They were able to to do so on Steam, but the game has yet to appear on GOG or to be relisted on Epic.Įdit: Missed the importance of the injunction, that makes a lot of sense. Nacon was to publish it on GOG and Steam after the Epic exclusivity deal ended. Had its own page and everything on GOG, all that disappeared once the game was pulled from Epic Games Store. The game was once listed as "Coming Soon" to GOG before the legal issues began. I also was able to get all the dlc locked outfits, but i think they are from a different dlc. So either something bugged out and i got lucky, or they settled their lawsuit. In the same run i did the dlc´s two other quests (fool´s gold and Defunct Brain Cylinders)

It´s the achievement for the "silence is golden" quest, wich is part of the "mercyful madness" dlc.

2021 - so a little less than four months ago. I got the "All Sewn Up - Banish Granny Weaver" one on Dez. Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0) / AMD Radeon R9 290 or better. This is the version of the game that Nacon has the publishing rights to, which is not the version with the Merciful Madness DLC. RECOMMENDED: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. What is on Steam right now appears to be the same copy of the game that was available on Epic back when the game was an Epic Games Store exclusive. My understanding is Nacon was legally not allowed to sell that version so they later reverted the game back to any earlier version that they were allowed to sell.
